I am a qualified chiropodist/podiatrist registered with the Health Professional Council (HPC) and a Member of the British Chiropody Association. I was Chairman of the Thames Valley Branch for 3 years. I have also lectured at Biomechanical seminars.
My work covers many forms of foot related problems,
from the basic (corns, hard skin, nails), more complex
conditions eg diabetic
foot problems, to the correction of Bio-mechanical
conditions resulting from structural problems or sprains,
as well as foot pain . Orthotics
are some times used to correct structural problems.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
I am a fully qualified practitioner trained in the Vodder method of MLD, and practice mainly in acute sports injury and postoperative care.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is an advanced therapy in which the practitioner uses a range of specialised and gentle rhythmic pumping techniques to move the skin in the direction of the lymph flow. This stimulates the lymphatic vessels, which carry substances vital to the defence of the body and remove waste products, and it helps reduce swelling after injury or surgery. It can boost the immune system, reduce fluid retention and help detoxify the body.
